The Friends of John Dean Park Society, founded in 1984, is a registered charity (#88661 7232 RR0001). We are dedicated to the protection of the natural systems and habitats in John Dean Provincial Park.
Our primary objectives are:
- To protect the integrity and undisturbed natural environment of the Park, consistent with compatible public recreation and educational activities.
- To speak on behalf of the Park and its history and to ensure that it remains in perpetuity as a Class “A” Provincial Park.
- To foster public awareness of, and interest in, the Park and to acquaint members and visitors with its resources − its flora, fauna, and history.
The Friends participate in park enhancement projects, including monitoring trail conditions, reporting issues, guiding interpretive nature and history hikes, producing educational material about the park, and removing invasive plants.
A big thank you to all the volunteers and visitors to the park who help with these activities.
